After filling in your trip information you will be able to look up any medical condition and then find out if we will be able to provide you with a quote.

Do I need to declare all medical conditions?

You will need to declare all pre-existing medical conditions when you buy travel insurance.

To make things a bit simpler we have put together a few helpful tips which along with our simple online medical screening system it shouldn’t take you very long to get back a whole list of suitable quotations for your forthcoming trip:

  • Please ensure you have a list of all your pre-existing conditions along with any dates of diagnosis, any treatment received including any recent surgery for all travellers.
  • Sometimes medication is prescribed by a GP and you may not be 100% sure of the name of the condition you are receiving this medication for so it may be worth double checking with your GP the exact name of the condition.
  • Please remember you will also need to screen conditions that are stable one of these being High Blood pressure, as although the medication prescribed will hopefully bring your Blood pressure into the accepted parameters for your age the condition itself is still present and will need to be declared.
  • Remember you will need to declare all psychological health conditions as well as the physical ones.
  • If you are travelling in Europe please ensure you have a valid European Health Insurance card (EHIC)

Will I pay extra for my insurance because of a medical condition?

You won’t necessarily have to incur extra cost to cover a pre-existing medical condition. It depends on what the condition is, how recent it is, whether you are undergoing treatment, or if the condition is well managed with medication. Sometimes, for something like mild asthma with no recent attacks, there is no increased cost to your travel insurance at all.

What would happen if I didn't declare my pre-existing medical condition?

When purchasing travel insurance it is very important that all medical conditions are declared before purchasing a policy. Failing to inform your insurer will mean that you will not be covered in an event of a claim in which the claim involves the previous existing medical condition. To avoid having to cover medical expenses yourself you should make sure that all of your medical conditions are disclosed before purchasing your policy. This applies to all travellers with a pre-existing medical condition.
