IMPORTANT NEWS CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) COVER IS NOW AVAILABLE - We can confirm all of our policies now provide cover for Medical and other Expenses outside of the United Kingdom if you contract Coronavirus (COVID-19) whilst abroad. The policies that offer the additional cover are clearly marked where we display our prices along with the full terms and conditions. Further details of the cover can be found here. We at medicaltravelinsurance.co.uk understand that travel insurance can be complicated, particularly when it comes to covering medical conditions, and that you may have questions. Well here we will try to answer a few of the most common questions that people have.
Most questions can be answered simply and will be under our quick questions section. If the answer you seek is not there then it may be in the detailed questions section which may be more of a read.
Here are some of the most common quick questions and our simple answers to them.
The cost of medical care abroad can reach the hundreds of thousands which is not ideal for those trying to enjoy themselves on holiday. If you need assistance with a pre-existing medical condition and have not been covered or have not declared it, then all costs would need to be paid somehow, no matter the cost.
If you are planning to take more than one holiday in a year, an annual travel insurance policy could work out cheaper. Single trip travel insurance will cover you for the full duration of an individual holiday.
We can cover winter sport activities, such as skiing and snowboarding, however if you have medical conditions please be sure to use our system to notify us as you will not be covered if you fail to disclose a condition that may be relevant.
Our policies do not include cover for terrorism, however should you be injured in a terror attack whilst abroad, all of our policies offer emergency medical and repatriation cover as standard. Please refer to your policy wording for full terms and conditions or alternatively please call our Customer Service team who will be happy to assist.
Travel insurance should be purchased as soon as you would like to be covered for cancellation for your trip. For single trip policies, your cancellation cover comes into effect on the day of purchase, and all other benefits begin on the day you travel. For annual policies, cover begins on the commencement date of the policy so please ensure you select the correct start date to be fully covered for cancellation.
For more complicated questions with longer answers we have seperate dedicated pages.
If your question is still unanswered you could try contacting us. If we get enough of the same or similar questions we may add it here.
