Sjögren's (pronounced Show-grin's) syndrome is a systemic autoimmune condition that affects parts of the body that produce fluids like tears and saliva. Usually starting in people aged 40-60 it is much more common in women than men and has no cure. Sjögren's syndrome is a long-term condition that can affect your daily life, there are treatments to help relieve the symptoms but it makes it important to include on your travel insurance if you want to have any medical cover for it or anything related. To add medical cover just use our system and declare any pre-existing medical conditions, including sjögren's syndrome and any related conditions. We've made it easy, all you need to do is search for sjogren when asked to add conditions, then answer the related questions, no special characters needed. Don't forget to then add any other conditions you may have and we will then be able to provide a selection of travel insurance quotes designed to meet your medical needs. Please also remember that currently when travelling to Europe, it is important to make sure that you also have a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
Travel insurance policies that cover Sjögrens disease will cover you if you have any complications relating to your medical condition, or any related or other added conditions, whilst you are on holiday. When abroad you gain access to a 24-hour emergency medical assistance or help line, with operators fluent in many languages who can speak to medical staff for you. The medical expenses section of a policy also commonly covers additional expenses such as ambulance and hospital admission costs, and repatriation to the UK should it be required. Another aspect included is that you will also get cover for cancellation meaning that if you were deemed unable to travel before your holiday, for reasons relating to your Sjögrens condition, any linked conditions or any other declared pre-existing medical conditions, you would be entitled to make a claim.
The simple screening process makes it easy to compare travel insurance policies that can cover Sjogrens syndrome as well as any related conditions or other various medical conditions you may have. When applying for a quote we ask some questions, first about your trip, then about who is travelling, this section will include questions about the medical health of the travellers. After this you will be able to add conditions for each traveller, conditions added will likely have some questions of their own to answer such as any related conditions, whether it has interfered with any activities or daily living, and about treatments or surgeries that have been needed or are currently underway. With these answers, we will be able to assess the current health situation of the travellers and should be able to provide a selection of travel insurance quotes that have the cover that you want and need including sjogrens syndrome.
